Swissair worried about iBook

I just watched the news and woke at the sight of an iBook. Obviously Swissair (Switzerland's biggest air, plane and flight company) is very worried about the iBooks being used in flying airplanes. Since many iBooks are equipped with AirPort, the company fears that the radio signal emitted by the port, even without standing connection to a base (port sensing activity), may cause major interference on the plane's hardware, maybe even cause the plane to crash. Swissair is now examining the iBooks more carefully, maybe the use of iBooks in planes will soon be forbidden. Of course that also affects all other planes and flight companies, the problem is not Swissair specific. Swissair

PowerLogix announces Dual G4 upgrades

xlr8yourmac.com/ has news that Powerlogix has announced dual G4 upgrade cards for any Mac from 7300 to 9600 and all Macs with a Zif slot. Later, Powerlogic will also produce upgrades for Sawtooth based systems (which have another high density 300pin slot) Costs are quite high yet, but as usual they'll drop as soon as the thingies are availlable. And after all 1500$ is still better than spending 3000$ on a new Mac and 1000$ to replace the old equipment with new one.

Another G4 vs. Athlon

3Dhardware.net has a link on a Photoshop comparison of G4 and G3 systems against some Athlon PCs. Note the "Everyone knows that the Macs are not that hot for gaming, but they are some serious graphics workstations." sentence. That kind of journalism really makes me angry. Check it out anyway.
