Rage Fury MAXX ships

According to the register Ati has today started shipping their Rage Fury MAXX graphics card. The card is really fast, but since it only runs on AGP4x slots, ATI is NOT going to bring it to the Mac. However, the next chip is in the works, with T&L and all the stuff. And that should make it to the Mac again then...oh ATI...

3Dfx comes to the Mac

Officially. In a press release they said that there will be special Mac optimized Voodoo4 and 5 boards, with fully supported drivers, support for Glide and OpenGL and all in a special Mac box. 3Dfx therefore continues to support the Mac greatly. The special Mac cards should be availlable soon after the PC release. I wonder what those optimization might be though...ColorSync? Altivec? we'll see. Mac3Dfx.com

PC sites take on MWSF

FiringSquad has also written their first part of MWSF reports. I just mention this because FiringSquad is actually a pretty "PCey" site. SharkyExtreme also seems to devote more time to the Mac now, check out their report on MWSF as well.
Close an eye from time to time...

Why is there no new hardware?

AppleInsider has the answer: Pismo is a bit delayed, as reported earlier, and The 17" iMac and Mystic G4s have to wait for the also delayed Mac OS 9.0.1 (Minuet). Apple will present all of it when it is ready, on a special Media Event due sometime sooner or later.
