G4 2.8 annoyment

reports that Motorola and IBM still have much trouble getting the G4 revision 2.8 (the one that can go over 450MHz) out of the house.
The chip is delayed all the time and yields are terribly low yet. Of course that also pushes back the release of the G4e that will boast 2 more integer and Altivec units, a 0.15 micron process and speeds up to 1.5GHz.

This would affect the iMacs, AirPort and others. Of course this would be a good idea after the recent deal with EarthLink...
