the register notes that Motorola has demoed a new watch sized and shaped Mobile phone at CeBit. According to the details listed on the register, it seems to be really cool actually. Way cooler than the current mobiles at least.

Stereoscopic Screens

the register reports that S3 and some German researchers have developed a monitor that can display stereoscopic images without needing the viewer to wear special glasses or anything. All OpenGL applications take advantage of this feature, delivering true 3D for the first time on a monitor. It's far away from the end-user market yet, but hey, it's coming.

the register notes that Seagate has developed a new harddrive with an awesome 15'000 RPM speed, alowing for even faster data transfers, smaller access times and even more OPS. The specs are truly impressive, while remaining unexpectedly low-cost.

the register also reports that 3dfx has launched it's Voodoo4/5 cards now in Europe, during the presentation at CeBit. Actually shipping might take yet another few weeks, but it is all in an arm's reach now. Coooool.

Beige G3 tweaked

MGL has linked me to Barefeats who has benchmarked an "old" beige G3 Desktop with a Voodoo3 3000 and a G3 466MHz Upgrade and compared them against a G4 400, a G4 400 upgrade and the original G3 266. I just had to put that here, I love my Beige MT so much:)
