xlr8yourmac has some bits on problems with iSub, some more PCI IDE card reports and some more game related things as well. See for yourself if you're interested in one of the topics.

Xbox with nVidia

Shugashack noticed that an article at EEtimes confirms that Microsoft's upcoming gaming-concole-PC will indeed use a graphics chip provided by nVidia. Probably some GeForce GPU or so.

New Servers from Motorola

the register notes that Motorola is abot to roll out a new line of top-end servers based on either Intel or PowerPC hardware, but running Linux in both cases. This new line of hardware who can be maintained without having to be shut down, due to hot swappable components, is seen as a threat to Solaris based servers from Sun.

IBM vs. Motorola rumor true?

the register picks up the rumor started by MOSR about the issue that Motorola holds off IBM from supplying faster and cheaper G4 chips, running at up to 650MHz already. If this is really true, then we should all point at Motorola and yell "shame on you!" very, very loudly. MOSR has also updated their rumor and it really seems to be true. I just can't believe how present and blinding greed is even between longtime buddies like IBM and MOT. This is really making me sad.

VSA-100 debut this week

MGL notes that 3dfx will debut their VSA-100 chips in the US this week at GDC. Behind the scenes, 3dfx is also expected to show some "Rampage" technology, the successor to Voodoo4/5 (Voodoo6 if you like).
The also have a few words from Gabe Newell (do you remember that dear friend of mine?) from Valve Software, again bitching about Apple and Gaming and how there was no support from Apple etc. Of course his word do not lack the usual "money, money, money!!!" between the lines. This guy is really making be puke. Sorry about that.

Lighten that keyboard

AppleInsider notes that Apple may be testing to illuminate the keyboard of future PowerBooks and iBook with tiny lamps in order to make them more easily useable in the dark. That is only going to get final if it doesn't severely hit battery performance. (my guess)

Athlon 1Ghz review

SharkyExtreme has the review on the 900, 950Mhz and 1Ghz Athlon already. Not much else to say then.

Mac evangelism

3dwars has an article called "PC vs. Mac" and this time it's for the Mac, not against it. Of course it has some errors in it, for example that old RISC vs. CISC myth. But there are other arguments that do cut and that is nice to see, isn't it? Read on, it's only three 12 point pages.
