New 3D technology from ATI?
xlr8yourmac has problem reports and solutions for various hardware issues and more importantly a rumor that speculative processing is enabled again in the rev 2.9 G4 Sawtooth systems (I didn't know that was disabled in the earlier Sawtooths, due to the "errata" these chips had, I'm shocked) which would make sense (and would justify the new revision number).
Last but not least, ATI has now announced an announcement for a new 3D hardware technology set to be held at GDC sometime on March 10-11. The new engine promises some tenfold speed increase over today's technologies etc...I wonder what is really up to it. Oh, and there will be Mac versions (did someone wake up there?). the register has more for you. Interesting indeed.
Shugashack notes that Bil Gate is expected to announce the X-Box at GDC, that John Carmack's latest .plan update is huge while he talks about where the 3D hardware industry should move to and last but not least, Intel is now shipping 1GHz Coppermines which seem to again beat the Athlon in Quake 3. All articles provide a lot of useful links.
Apple Expo Paris
the register notes that Apple has renamed the Apple Expo Paris to Macworld Europe, being the last big event in Europe where Apple actually takes part. After a lot of fuss around cutting and glueing on Apple's strategy in Europe, this only makes sense. Also, I hope this might bring a few of the bigger announcements to Europe finally.
the register notes that Apple has won all lawsuits regarding iMac cloner companies in asia, prohibiting them of selling any iMac like machines - unless they are beige:)

Answer to Gabe
Mac3d has the answer to Gabe Newell's statements that made me so mad yesterday. Now Lane Roathe, former CEO of Logicware says what he thinks. If there is a company I'd not like to work for it is Sierra and Valve.
MOSR has some rumors on a Crusoe based PowerBook being developed, Mac OS 9.0.4 being almost GM and also goes into the importance of ATI's new 3D chipsets for the Mac.
SharkyExtreme has the review on the 1GHz Pentium 3 and also takes (yet) another look at the new ATI chipset.
