FiringSquad has a review of the latest and greatest mouse pad technology there is. Good thing about mouse pads is that they're 120% Mac compatible.
New sound API
MacCentral reports that Loki Entertainment has, together with Creative Labs, developed a new 3D sound API called OpenAL. Loki hopes to create a new 3D standard on all platforms (currently Windows, Linux and Mac), much like OpenGL is for 3D graphics. OpenAL is opensource and can be used by whoever wants to. This might be the API that the Soundblaster cards from Creative might be supporting on the Mac. (ed. note)
MGL will be providing reports from GDC in the next few days. Their first article tells you what might be happening this year. Apple seems to be serious about gaming, which is good news.
