Get more than 5 drives in a K1/K2 case
I wrote another article on how you can put 2 drives inside one bay of a K1 or K2 case (8600-beige G3). Read on for some tinkering execises. Stuff her up!
xlr8yourmac has some tips on CPU upgrades, the Matrox G400 for the Mac and, very funny, also an article from a reader describing how to put two drives inot a B&W case. I really didn't copy the idea, I've just seen it there too:)
3dfx allies up
Shugashack notes that 3dfx is now cross-licensing technology patents with Intel, similar to nVidia cross-licensing with S3. Well, that sure helps for the future.
StronGARM (pun, pun)
the register notes that Intel has some very nice plans for their StrongARM chip, which was used in the Newton series for example. The chip should soon be moved to 0.18 micron and clock at up to 1GHz. Interesting point is that the chip will use even less power than it did before. (StrongARM is a RISC chip). I guess this is Intel's masterpiece.
MS is guilty
MacWEEK notes, among about 1 million other newsservices, that Microsoft was found guilty by the judge. Blabla...
MOSR notes that Apple has made some adaptations to the Aqua interface to make the transition from Platinum to Aqua easier for developers. Mainly the size of the controls seem to have been adapted.
