AMD samples new chips

New releases

the register notes that Apple has released Darwin 1.0 officially. The binary is 211MB in size and works on the iMac, the B&Ws and the G4s. Support for older models is in the works. The set can be compiled for both PPC and x86. Let the developments begin!
MacWEEK has the scoop on Netscape 6, which has just been released. I haven't heard much yet, but I hope it doesn't introduce new bugs...

LC power from Sonnet

MacObserver notes that Sonnet is going to release CPU add on card for the LC series (remember those?). It is not a joke at all, the cards are Mac OS 8 compliant and should boost performance by as much as 650%! Heh, crazy Sonnet:)

MOSR

MOSR has more rumors on a possible Matrox-Apple alliance. Well, from what I hear, the G400 is a wonderful card in terms of sharpness as well as speed. Might be interesting.
