Shugashack has already a nice sum-up from the GeForce 2 announcement, looks like Voodoo5 is old before it has even come out. I won't post further articles concerning this topic, as Shugashack already links to most sites.
USB 2.0 is here
the register reports that Intel today will announce (has announceed) the final spoecs for USB 2.0, the successor to USB 1.1 which runs at 480Mb/sec. IEEE 1394, better known as FireWire, currently runs at 400Mb/sec, but is unlike USB truly isochronous most certainly making it faster still, and 800Mb and 1600Mb are waiting in the labs. But it might well reduce FireWire to the Mac platform again, which would suck.
MacCentral has a more in depth scoop yet.
MacNN notes that Connectix has released an update for Virtual PC enhancing performance under some OSes and adding some Altivec enhancements. Yeah! Oh, and it's free.
MOSR has a few interesting notes on an Apple Handheld, on FireWire and its benefits and finally on the iMac speed bump most certainly due at MWNY. I wonder where they always get their stuff...:)
