nVidia creeping back

xlr8yourmac notes that nVidia officially stated that they "are not looking to bring a product to the Mac market". Some say this statement is aimed only at the Geforce 2 GTS (NV15), which would be normal, since they said they'd bring the NV20 to the Mac earlier. I can only hope that this is true, otherwise these guys are starting to annoy me.

AMD stops Athlon production

Shugashack notes that AMD has already stopped producing the old Athlon core in all its fabs, early yields for the succeeding chip seem to have been so encouraging, that AMD decided to take the risk of running out of Athlon cores before the new chips actually ship. With Intel already having massive trouble shipping enough P3s, a failure at AMD might have catastrophic effects on PC prices. Let's hope they fail:)

DRAM prices

the register notes that Taiwanese manufacturers predict a price rise in the end of 2000 for all DRAM types. Interestingly they all agree to the estimation, while independent estimates predict far lower prices. Sounds mafia to me...

Check out how a company managed to get tested with their product before the company that introduced the technology.
