V5 flaw

Shugashack notes that 3Dfx has already found the problem that forced them to delay shipping of the Voodoo 5 cards. The problems should be fixed quickly, so we can expect the delay to be minimal.

More on new PPC chips

MacWEEK analyses the rumorous announcement of new G3 chips from IBM and sees that the gap between the philosophies of IBM and Motorola are still there, without seeming to be closed anytime soon. Still, I think when two companies focus on one chip each, that is certainly better than when one company focuses on two chips or two companies on one chip, no?

MOSR

MOSR has news on a revision B Pismo PowerBook sporting faster G3 chips (obviously they just took the ones "announced" by ZDnet) and a few other improvements. 500,600 and 650 MHz Range is very unlikely in my opinion. First of all the new G3s are not going to appear in quantities before Fall, then Apple will make the stepping either 450, 500, 550 or 500, 550, 600, but cerainly not overleap a 50MHz step. IMHO take that rumor and cut out the new chips, and you might have the real rev. B
