IBM, Xilinx team up
xlr8yourmac
linked me to News.com, reporting that IBM and Xilinx, a programmable chip company, have teamed up. Xilinx has licensed the IBM PowerPC core to implement its features into their future remotely programmable chips, that are used in communication solutions.
The deal might give a further boost to the PPC.

Sony goes MP PSX?
IGN
notes that Sony has announced a new product called the GScube (similarity?) which basically sport the innards of 16 Playstation 2 consoles. The new machine is aimed at professionals doing rendering stuff for films etc, probably also for creating content in real ttime and delivering it over broadband networks (wo PSX 2 users for example).
MP is the future!
