3dfx hitting more dirt

the register notes that 3dfx again (!) has announced substantially lower earnings than expected for the this quarter. Last time they had lost somewhat more than 100mio $ and it looks as if there is no end of this poor performance in sight. Like Intel did before, 3dfx also blames the European market for the losses. Of course, blame us.

Voodoo4 4500 reviews

FS has reviewed the PCI and AGP versions of 3dfx's Voodoo4 4500 graphics cards. Since this model is basically aimed at business and OEM markets, it might be interesting to read the reviews, even if you're not a gamer. Also I guess the PCI version is a great 2nd display card.

Radeon SDR review

SharkyExtreme reviewed ATI's latest offering: a Radeon with normal SDRAM instead of DDR-SDRAM on board. This is hurting performance a bit, but it also makes the card much cheaper. Check out whether we'd like that in a Mac version too.

Mac OS 9.1 coming

AppleInsider notes that Mac OS 9.1 has gone final candidate and shows off a few of the new features and improvements. I hope it's going to be a worthy final version of the "Classic OS".
