More PS2

In a show on TV they talked about an event called "The Grid" here in Switzerland, where Sony demoed some PS2 stuff. Official European release date is now 11/24/2000. By this time 25 games schould be available for PS2. The PS1 had 5 games when it shipped.

New Athlon systems coming

the register notes that AMD is going to launch its 760 chipset on Monday in Paris. The new board sports suport for DDR-SDRAM up to 266MHz (133MHz x2) and also the SMP capabilities of the Athlon are being worked on. The move is seen as another push forward against Intel's soon to be released Pentium 4 chip (that is probably not going to be any faster at launch speeds.).

Microsoft hacked badly, analysis

TechWeb has some more indepth analysises on the recent severe hack-attack on Microsoft. I guess you heard the story, so there is no need going into details. We always knew their security sucked, at least after the hotmail leak, but now it looks like nobody is safe. Is anybody surprised now?

Radeon shipping

MacCentral reports that the Radeon Mac Edition AGP cards are now officially shipping, confirmed by ATI themselves. The PCI version, which also promises to be a very interesting product, is still in the works, but should also ship before years end.
