Various

xlr8yourmac has more news on Voodoo4 in Beige G3 Macs, notes that OpenGL 1.2.1 shipped with the CroMag Rally demo (with feedback) and eventually notes that Seagate announced a new ultra big harddrive, a 180GB 7200rpm USCSI-160 Barracuda. That should be enough for even the thickest MP3 fans (or other:).

Voodoo5 6000 dead?

Shugashack. notes that 3dfx announced 4-way SLI graphics card (the Voodoo5 6000) may in dead be "dead", meaning that it will never be released. The card is lagging behind its planned release date quite a bit (almost a year:) so nobody would really be surprised. Other notes concern the soon to be released Quake 3 1.25 patch as well as Quake 3 Team Arena Add on. Some news from Intel and AMD too, mostly about not shipping stuff when expected. (no 1.5GHz Athlon till mid 2001 now)

Samsung gives RDRAM a boost

the register reports that Samsung has successfully moved its RDRAM production to a 0.17 micron process, which is expected to lower the prices and enhance the speed of the modules by up to 30%. This means that 1GHz RDRAM might be here sooner than expected and this again means...nothing. We all know Rambus is dead:)

Comdex stuff take 2

MacNN shows us what a Cube knock-off can really be. It's really sad to see such low levels of innovation. It's nice, but golly, can't you damn egg-heads think of something on your own?
MacWEEK notes that ATI is working hard on bringing the Radeon to the mobile market. Might be interesting to see Radeon Mobile compete against GeForce2 Go. No statements from Apple yet - of course - but you can be sure they'll include that asap.
