MS cancelled products
the register reports that Microsofts dubious version of Windows 2000 Professional for the Alpha processor is existing, but will never ship, since Compaq stopped the development of the technology. Too bad for both sides.

New OS X Server version coming
AppleInsider nots that Apple is apparently working on a new version of Mac OS X server. The new version will bring several enhancements and about 25% speed increase (most certainly due to Altivec and MP support).

Good news on upcoming PowerBooks
AppleInsider has some more news and rumors on upcoming PowerBooks. They are expected to be much slimmer and much lighter than the current models. If you ever owned a PowerBook 5300 or a PowerBook G3 (the very first one) you know why this is a good thing.
