Tinkering

xlr8yourmac's has a link to a page describing how you can get a Cube into a Mac Color Classic case. Mike also notes that ATI has finally released their updated drivers to fix some serious issues with the ATI Radeon PCI.

Intel news

the register notes that Intel is about to release a new mobile chip they call a "Transmeta killer" and "lowest power consuming PC chip ever made". Of course it does have speed step technologies and only seems to reach battery lives of about 5 hours. Nothing revolutionary if you ask me.

Critical Oni review

FiringSquad has what I think is an excellent review of Oni, finally dropping all the hype and looking at it with a normal heart-beat ratio. Was it really what we expected?

MacObserver reports that both HP and Apple seem to have helped finance a new company called "Ofoto" that is going to offer photographs in digital form, as well as services to print you your fotos.

Dreamcast successor

Slashdot has some brief news on the successor console of the Dreamcast, which Sega is expected to release next year. Nothing revolutionary as far as I can tell, but anyway...

Holy cow: 1.2GHz???

MOSR says that Motorola has successfully gotten the MPC7450 to a clock frequency of 1.2GHz!!! Of course the old manufacturing problems etc persist. Now Apple is again strengthening its efforts to get other companies to actually produce the chips, as Motorolas production infrastructure obviously sucks too much. I already like the thought of a 1.2GHz Mac (maybe even this year), so this is good news for me.

nVidia Mac future

AppleInsider has some rumors according to which Apple is going to migrate to an nVidia only strategy, dropping more and more ATI chips as new revisions of Apple's product lins come out. Eventually Apple plans to go 100% nVidia. I don't think that's going to piss off any gamers out there.

Apple recognized

SharkyExtreme has posted an article telling PC users that most of the features their PCs have today, actually came in through innovations and ideas of Apple. Interesting how even some of the most biased sites start to consider writing non-flaming articles about Apple.
