VIA still working on the sons of Cyrix

the register notes that the latest development in the now already old family of "Cyrix" chips, the C4 will hit 2GHz in the second half of 2002. Adding more pipeline depth and SIMD instructions, VIA probably hopes to get a chip not only with a small price tag, but also one that people might actually want to buy, because it can more or less keep up with the competition, performance wise.
