Various

xlr8yourmac has various notes on various topics, among them a comparison of the cheapest VAIO notebook with the iBook and install tips on the Diablo 2 Expansion pack "Lord of Destruction". The mentioned trick works for normal Diablo 2 too, but most users probably don't have, or notice the issue.

P4 1.8GHz review

FiringSquad has a review of the newest and fastest Pentium 4 chip from Intel, which has been released today. Apart from the incredible die size and the incredible clock rate, only the incredible price is really worth mentioning.
Much more interesting is an introduction to 2D performance, and why it's going to matter again with the arrival of DVD and other 2D intensive technologies. Check this out.

Stupid invaders invade Britain

the register has this interesting story about a company (a TV channel actually) trying to rip off users over the internet, if they want to participate in an online competition. Since they want you to use their own phone line, only analog and ISDN are supported, and since the browser initiates the process of dropping the connection and reeastablishing the new one, it only works on PCs with Internet Exploder. I don't think we need to participate there after all.

More privacy issues

TechWeb has some interesting links to sites talking about privacy issues that arrive whenever a company want's to gather information from the customers. Interesting if you were upset yesterday after reading my Word story.

Emulators Inc. plans more

MacCentral notes that the company who's already known for their 68k Emulator for Windows, now also is looking forward to emulating the PPC, which would then enable PC users to emulate a Mac with Mac OS on PC hardware. Too bad you will still need the fastest PC to only get remotely close to what the fastest Mac will offer performance whise, if you're using an emulator. Still, if these guys have fun coding away stuff this complicated, let them do it.

Very interesting

MOSR has some very interesting stuff to say about the G5 making good progress and has some updates on the Mac OS updates front I mentioned yesterday. Have a read, you won't regret it.
