Is the Xbox ready for release?

Gaming Age has several reports of defective Xbox units shipped to retailers for showcasing. Aparently either the hardware isn't equal to the final product, or something went terribly wrong, Read on to learn more about the buggiest console to date.

xlr8yourmac.com has some more indepth reviews of the PowerBook G4 667MHz comparing it against a Pentium 3 850MHz notebook running Windows XP in both Photoshop and Quake 3, and after that there are also tons of other notes you might find interesting, but nothing really groundbreaking, well Espon drivers for OS X probably are, if you know Epson, but then again, I don't have an Espon printer, so it's not very interesting for me.

Little new

the register has little news of interest, which is also the main reason why I don't post during the past few days, it's just been a bit quiet. They got some stuff about Windows XP though, but since even the TV channels are full of reports on that "new OS", I didn't want to bother you with it.

Doom is back, on GBA

Activision is bringing Doom back to the people, this time in a version for the GameBoy Advance, there's even an .avi movie of the actual gameplay. Is there a platform that doesn't have Doom? I remember even the TI-85 advanced calculator had some version of it back in school...incredible.

iPod plays breakout!

MacObserver reports that an easteregg has been discovered to be hidden i teh About menu of the iPod. If the center button is pressed down for several seconds, you'll be able to play breakout on the iPod. If it can play breakout...why in hell didn't they make it officially an MP3 AND gaming device? That had surely impressed people more than the 399$ pricetag.
